OpenSearch Support Services
OpenSearch is a community-driven, open source search and analytics suite derived from Apache 2.0 licensed Elasticsearch 7.10.2 & Kibana 7.10.2. It consists of a search engine daemon, OpenSearch, and a visualization and user interface, OpenSearch Dashboards. OpenSearch enables people to easily ingest, secure, search, aggregate, view, and analyze data. These capabilities are popular for use cases such as application search, log analytics, and more. With OpenSearch people benefit from having an open source product they can use, modify, extend, monetize, and resell how they want. At the same time, OpenSearch will continue to provide a secure, high-quality search and analytics suite with a rich roadmap of new and innovative functionality.
Event Monitoring & Alerting
This feature notifies you when data from one or more OpenSearch indices meets certain conditions. You could, for example, notify a Slack channel if an application logs more than five HTTP 503 errors in an hour. Monitoring is based on jobs that run on a defined schedule, checking indices against trigger conditions, and raising alerts when a condition has been triggered
Deep Performance Analysis
This is a REST API that allows you to query a long list of performance metrics for your cluster. You can access the metrics programmatically or you can visualize them using
perf top and other perf tools.
OpenSearch SQL lets you write queries in SQL rather than the OpenSearch query domain-specific language (DSL).
If you’re already familiar with SQL and don’t want to learn the query DSL, this feature is a great option.
